![]() ![]() Mimic betrayed Whisper and her old group a while back and so Whisper has vowed revenge. So for now she just waits and waits for things to change and that’s when an adventure does reach her! So Whisper is on the offensive against a villain known as Mimic. To be honest I don’t think she’s wrong about that. No enemies are attacking and yet she can’t leave the village to find adventure because she figures they will all be doomed without her. Now as for the actual mini series, it starts off with Tangle being bored at how there’s nothing to do. He just always feels out of his depth and well….pretty sad tbh. I wouldn’t mind if they toned down Silver’s pacifist personality and made him edgy like the Sonic 2006 game but we can’t have everything I suppose. In short all of the mini comics here are a nice tribute to the Sonic continuity as long time fans will really appreciate all of the guest stars and cameos. The Egg Golem from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle returns which was a nice tribute. The group just can’t focus long enough to get the job done! We also get to see a museum owner who is nice enough but she can’t really fight and being a living diamond makes her an easy target. They always make for a really fun trio even if they were a little outmatched here. In one of them we actually get to see Jet and the Babylon Rogues which was a lot of fun. I will say that she looks a lot better here than in the main series which works out well.įirst up before we get into the actual mini series there is an annual issue which is basically a compilation of a bunch of small stories before we get to the heart of the matter. ![]() I already liked Tangle so this was a good chance to bump Whisper up. So now they can get some extra character development and it works out well for them. ![]() It’s about Tangle & Whisper as you could guess from the title and this is a good idea since they are some of the new characters created during this era of comics. Whisper's species of a wolf and her status as the Diamond Cutters' sniper brings about a similarity to Sniper Wolf from the Metal Gear series. It’s time to check out one of the Sonic spinoffs.Whisper's overall design is derived from one of the many models the female wolf Avatar from Sonic Forces could assume. In comics and animation, eyes that can see while appearing closed can be shorthand for a few things, including indicating that a character is wise, that they are constantly keeping a close eye on everything, or that a character is dealing with a lot of emotional pain. The reason why Whisper's eyes always appear closed is for expressing her emotions.Whisper was conceptualized by writer Ian Flynn, while artist Evan Stanley took care of the character's design.Although this isn’t really that much of an issue, because it is reasonable as she couldn’t stand losing another friend, it just ruins what could’ve been the saddest scene in the IDW comics. Which was an extremely idiotic move because not only did they not yet have the cure, but it could’ve gotten her infected if not for her wisps. She did try to rescue Tangle after hearing that she was infected by the metal virus. She is an expert marksman and a master of stealth, able to infiltrate areas undetected and hit distant targets with her Variable Wispon without being detected by friends or foes alike. When fighting, Whisper is very focused and determined, preferring to not let her emotions get the better of herself to complete her goals. While Whisper is cautious and mistrustful of other people, she exhibits a strong bond with her Wisps that is based on trust and friendship as illustrated by their reception of Sonic persuading her to trust the hedgehog, and the Wisps willingness to stand up to Badniks in order to defend her.Due to her mysterious and lone wolf attitude, she gained a reputation among the Resistance soldiers, and became known as the legendary "Guardian Angel of the Battlefield".A particular, subtle quirk of hers is her squinting eyes and tendency to quietly whisper, quite fitting for someone with her name.Speaking of Tangle, the two share a cute, wholesome friendship, despite being quite the polar opposites.Along with fellow canon foreigner, Tangle the Lemur, she has a very adorable design that fits surprisingly well Forces' war-themed aesthetic.Driven by grief and loss, she is one of the deepest characters in the entire series so when she eventually breaks out of her social shell, its all the more satisfying. An original character made solely for the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comics, she is a great addition to cast. ![]()
